Mary Ann Schumacher (née Ackerman; 29 August 1898 – 29 October 2009) was a validated American supercentenarian.

Biography[]

She was born as Mary Ann Ackerman in Reynolds, North Dakota on 29 August 1898. Her parents were Joseph Ackerman and Mary (née Lemerich) Ackerman. Her fraternal twin Brother Joseph died at age four. Her father died in 1953 at age of 95 and her mother died in 1940 at age of 82.

She married Frederick Conrad Schumacher on 30 July 1917 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Reynolds, North Dakota. The couple had 4 children. Her husband died in 1981.

She lived in Reynolds until moving to St. Anne's Guest Home, Grand Forks, at the age of 95. She lived there 14 years until moving to Valley Eldercare Center at the age of 109.

Her sister, Catherine Agnes Adam (1881–1986) lived to be 104 (almost 105) and her niece, Teresa Margaret Von Rueden (1905–2009) lived to be 104.

She died in Grand Forks, North Dakota on 29 October 2009 at the age of 111 years, 61 days. She is survived by 2 children Lucille Rohman and Donald Schumacher, one daughter-in-law Luella LeClerc, 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
