Mary Ellen Strother (née Perkins; formely Cloud; 29 August 1886 – 1 November 1996) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography
Mary Strother was born as Mary Ellen Perkins in Louisiana, United States on 29 August 1886. Her parents were Isreal Perkins and Celia (née Maricle) Perkins. She had nine siblings.
She married Crockett Johnson in 1902 and had eight children. Her first husband died in 1920 and she married Jesse Cloud in 1930. After Cloud died in 1941, she then married Rudolph Strother. Rudolph died in 1958.
Her maternal uncle, Burrell Maricle (1843–1949), who lived to be 105, was the third to last Confederate veteran in Louisiana (only Stephen Dupuis (1845–1949) and William Townsend (1846–1953) outlived him).
Mary Strother died in Louisiana, United States on 1 November 1996 at the age of 110 years, 64 days.
