Sister Mary Victor Waters (14 September 1904 – 27 May 2014) was a Irish-American centenarian who was second-oldest living Irish-born person behind Kathleen Snavely when he died.[1]
Biography[]
Waters was born on 14 September 1904 in Galway, Ireland as Bridget Waters, and moved to the United States in 1925, where she worked as a governess. She joined the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception in 1928 and served in a number of states, including New York, Illinois and Massachusetts. She joined the Lady of the Angels Convent in Tenafly in 2004 where she was an assistant mistress of novices, responsible for training young women to become nuns in both Rome and Massachusetts.
Waters died on 27 May 2014 at the age of 109 years, 255 days in Tenalfy, New Jersey. She was buried at the Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
