Mary Elizabeth Will (née Bundy; 15 October 1900 – 2 November 2013) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Mary Elizabeth Bundy was born in Monroe, North Carolina, USA on 15 October 1900, the daughter of Sidi and Elizabeth Bundy. Her maternal grandfather, John D. Stewart, was one of the founders of Monroe. After finishing high school, Will moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she enrolled at King's Business College and also studied at Queens College to be a professional pianist.
Will later worked as a Medical Secretary with the Veterans Administration. In 1941, she married Victor Will, and they were married until his death in 1965. The couple had no children. Will was an active member of Senior Scholars, Fred Astaire Dance Studios, Salvation Army Auxiliary, Community Concert Association, and the Liberty Hall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
At the age of 100, Will became an honorary member of the Charlotte Opera Guild. She was also a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir for 43 years. She died in Charlotte, North Carolina, on 2 November 2013 at the age of 113 years, 18 days.
