Mathilde Julienne Gratry (10 May 1896 – 10 January 2008) was a French supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest living person in France, after Clementine Solignac and Eugenie Blanchard.

Biography[]

Mathilde Gratry was born in the 3rd district of Lyon, Rhone (now Metropole de Lyon), Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 10 May 1896. Her parents were Auguste Gratry (1862–1946) and Marie Mannequin (1862–1943). She had 3 brothers: Charles (1889–1986), Jean (1891–1927), and Alexandre (1892–1976).

In her last years, Gratry lived in the nursing home Cuvier, situated in the 6th district of Lyon.

Mathilde Gratry died in the 6th district of Lyon, Rhone (now Metropole de Lyon), Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 10 January 2008 at the age of 111 years, 245 days.

Gratry’s age was verified by Luc Le Lay, Laurent Toussaint, Cyril Depoudent, and Sylvain Grosgeorge, and (posthumously) validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on 5 March 2016.
