Marie Mathilde Rousseau-Mars (15 October 1909 – 6 July 2020) was a Mauritian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known living person on Mauritius since death of 110-year-old Kewal Parsad Bisnauthsing on 6 April 2020 until her death three months later.
Biography[]
Rousseau claimed to be born in Camp Fouquereaux, Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius, on 15 October 1909. In 1929, she married Louis Michel. They had 2 daughters (one deceased as of 2019).
In October 2019, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. At that time, she lived with her daughter, Alice Labonté (aged 88 in 2019). At that time, she also had 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.
Rousseau died in Circonstance, St-Pierre, Mauritius on 6 July 2020 at the age of 110 years, 265 days.
