Matsuno Muroi (Japanese: 室井マツノ; 1 July 1909 – 15 November 2020) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age was validated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022.
Biography[]
Matsuno Muroi was born in Japan on 1 July 1909.
On 1 July 2019 she celebrated her 110th birthday, making her a supercentenarian. After the death of Sata Adachi on 29 October 2019, Muroi became the oldest living person in Tochigi Prefecture.
Matsuno Muroi died in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, on 15 November 2020, at the age of 111 years, 137 days. Following her death, Hagi Yamazaki (born on 18 June/July 1912, died on 21 May 2021) of Nasukarasuyama City became the new oldest living person in Tochigi Prefecture.
