Michal Kruzic [Slovak: Michal Kružic] (12 May 1907 – 15 May 2012) was a Slovakian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Slovakia at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Michal Kružic was born in the village of Kostolné, Trenčín Region, Austria-Hungary (now Slovakia), on 12 May 1907, to father Michal Kružic, and mother Anna Kružicová (née Hučková). He had one sister. On 28 July 1926, he married his wife Anna Kružicová (née Mocko), and had seven children. He spent his productive years on an agricultural cooperative, and working in the fields and raising domestic animals also became his hobbies. His wife died in 1996, at the age of 89. Since 4 January 2005, he was a client of the Social Services Center – Jesienka Myjava.
On 12 May 2007, he celebrated his 100th birthday, becoming a centenarian. At the age of 105, he had 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
On 23 May 2011, following the death of 106-year-old Štefan Novotný, he became the oldest known living man in Slovakia.
Michal Kružic died in Myjava, Trenčín Region, Slovakia, on 15 May 2012, at the age of 105 years, 3 days. Following his death, then 104-year-old Anton Dobrota became the oldest known living man in Slovakia.
