Mileva Tomovic (née Strahinja) [Montenegrin: Mileva Tomović, Montenegrin Cyrillic: Милева Томовић] (12 June 1916 – 14 March 2023) was a Montenegrin centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Montenegro at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Mileva Tomović was born in the village of Podgor, Bar Municipality, Kingdom of Montenegro (now Montenegro), on 12 June 1916. When she was little, her father was in America, working and earning, sending everything and everything, coming and bringing. And her mother was a real beauty. Many were envious and jealous of all this. They made the two of them separate, the children grow up without a mother, her mother later remarried, gave birth to a daughter and died quickly at the age of thirty-five. She had two brothers. Her older brother was in the partisans from the beginning to the end of the Second World War and had a partisan Memorial, and the younger one left a little later, when he agreed, he was wounded, survived, but did not last long after the war. At some point, she married Jošo Tomović, and had two sons and two daughters.
On 11 May 2020, following the death of 108-year-old Božana Mandalinić, she became the oldest known living woman in Montenegro.
On 16 May 2021Following the death of 106-year-old Peter Grujić, she became the oldest known living person in Montenegro.
On 5 July 2021, following the death of 111-year-old Zenepe Piranić of Albania, she became the oldest known living Montenegrin-born person.
Mileva Tomović died in Podgorica, Podgorica Municipality, Montenegro, on 14 March 2023 at the age of 106 years, 275 days. She was buried in the village of Ovtočići, Bar Municipality, on 15 March 2023. Following her death, then 104-year-old Danica Borozan became the oldest known living person in Montenegro.
