Milivoje Matejic [Serbian: Миливоје Матејић] (5 February 1910 – 20 April 2016) was a Serbian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Serbia at the time of his death.

Biography[]

Milivoje Matejic was born in the village of Desine, Veliko Gradiste, Kingdom of Serbia (now Serbia) on 5 February 1910. During the World War II, he served in Royal Yugoslav Army.

He married Divosija and had two children: Dusan and Zivorad. Before the birth of their sons, they also had one daughter who died at the age of six.

His son Zivorad was killed in a fight in 1981. His wife died around 2006 at the age of 96. His son Dusan (aged 80 in April 2016) lived with his family in France.

He worked as a farmer until age 102. Following the death of 104-year-old Ilija Trifunovic on 9 March 2012, he became the oldest known living man in Serbia.

At the age of 106, he had one grandson, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Milivoje Matejic died in the village of Desine, Veliko Gradiste, Serbia on 20 April 2016 at the age of 106 years, 75 days. Following his death, then-105-year-old Branko Kurjacki of Srbobran, became the oldest known living man in Serbia.
