Minnie Marilla Mudie (née Harvey; 18 November 1885 – 27 July 1997) was a Canadian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She may have been the third-oldest person in Canada at the time of her death behind Marie-Louise Meilleur and Mary Ann Rhodes.
Biography[]
Minnie Mudie was born Minnie Harvey on 18 November 1885 in Sintaluta, Saskatchewan to parents William and Elizabeth Ann (née Atkins) Harvey. She had at least six siblings. She worked as a school teacher for 18 years before marrying Scottish-born Alfred Holliday Mudie on 16 August 1937 in Kelowna, British Columbia when she was 51 and he was 58. Their marriage had only lasted for 10 years, 8 months when Alfred passed away aged 69 on 16 April 1948.
Minnie Mudie passed away on 27 July 1997 in Kelowna, British Columbia at the age of 111 years, 251 days. She was the oldest person in British Columbia at the time of her death.
