Mitavale Levaopolo Sione (18 April 1907 – 20 February 2017) was a Samoan centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Samoa at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Mitavale Levaopolo Sione was born in Samoa on 18 April 1907.
She worked as a elderly caregiver. She married Tita’e Aga and had four children: three sons (all now deceased as of April 2016) and one daughter (aged 78 in April 2016).
On her 105th birthday in 2012, she was reported as the oldest known living person in Samoa.
She was a member of Methodist Church. She lived with her grandson Levaopolo Pauni (aged 55 in April 2016).
At the time of her death, she had five generations of descendents.
Mitavale Levaopolo Sione died in Samoa on 20 February 2017 at the age of 109 years, 308 days. Following her death, then-103-year-old Anastasia Fa'aopea Teo became the oldest known living person in Samoa.
