Mitsuko Uesugi (20 August 1907 – 30 April 2018) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Mitsuko Uesugi was born in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan on 20 August 1907. She married and had seven children. In her adult life, she became an embroidery artist and still participated in her art exhibitions at age 107. She credited her vigor and longevity to enjoying her hobbies. She became the oldest person in Ibaraki Prefecture upon the death of Kuni Onose on 5 February 2018. She held that title until she died on 30 April 2018 in Ishioka City.
