Miwa Nara [Japanese: 奈良美和] (8 February 1909 – fl.1 April 2020) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Nara was born in Nagabuchi, Ome, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan, on 8 February 1909. She moved to Hachioji with her family while she was attending a middle school. Before the Second World War, she managed a textile-related company called Yoriya (Japanese: よりや). She loved making Temari after the war. She had eight children. Even in her centenarian years, she was still able to walk.
In February 2019, she celebrated her 110th birthday. In September 2019, she lived with her eldest son, Hayashi (aged 85 at the time), and his 4 children.
Nara was last known to be alive on 1 April 2020 at the age of 111 years, 53 days. At the time, she lived in Motoyokoyamacho, Hachioji, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan.
