Miyo Koganezaki [Japanese: 黄金崎ミヨ] (1 January 1905 – 8 June 2015) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Koganezaki was born in the Shiroishi village (present-day Shiroishi Ward, Sapporo), Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, on 1 January 1905. She worked in the agriculture in Aomori Prefecture until her 80s. At the age of 100, she was living in Fukaura, Aomori, but her youngest son and child Katsuo convinced her to move back to Hokkaido Prefecture in September 2007.
On 18 June 2014, at the age of 109, following the death of 110-year-old Hiteno Takikawa, she became the oldest living person in Hokkaido Prefecture. At the age of 110, she was hospitalized.
Koganezaki died in Omagarihakuyo, Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, on 8 June 2015, at the age of 110 years, 158 days.
