Miyoko Hiroyasu [Japanese: 広安美代子] (born 23 January 1911) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She is currently the oldest living person in Oita Prefecture.

Biography[]

Miyoko Hiroyasu was born in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, Japan on 23 January 1911. She was the class president at her elementary school. She attended an all-girls high school and later studied art at a school in Tokyo. During this time she lived with her uncle, aunt, and grandmother. She married a man she had met while working in Hiroshima, and later worked as an art teacher at a girls school in Hiroshima Prefecture.

In September 2019, she was reported to be the oldest (known) living person in Nakatsu, and was visited by the mayor, Masanori Okuzuka. In January 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Following the death of 110-year-old Kiyo Sato on 30 April 2021, Hiroyasu was reported to be the oldest known living person in Oita Prefecture.

Hiroyasu's age was verified by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yumi Yamamoto, and validated by the GRG on 28 April 2023.

At the age of 113, she is still able to speak clearly, write, and draw, and she enjoys watching TV and playing card games with the other residents of her nursing home. She says she would "like to continue to live a healthy and enjoyable life".

Miyoko Hiroyasu currently lives in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, Japan at the age of 113 years, 312 days.
