Modesta Rodriguez Carrasquillo De Castro [Spanish: Rodríguez] (16 June 1890 – 12 January 2003) was a Puerto Rican supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2012. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in Puerto Rico, after Ramona Trinidad Iglesias-Jordan.
Biography[]
Rodriguez Carrasquillo was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on 16 June 1890. Her parents were Estanislao Rodriguez Rivera and Segunda Carrasquillo Forty. She had 10 siblings (a few of her siblings lived to be more 95).
She married Genaro Castro Rodriguez in Trujillo Bajo, Carolina, Puerto Rico on 30 June 1910. The couple had 11 children. She got widowed in 1968.
Rodriguez Carrasquillo died in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico on 12 January 2003 at the age of 112 years, 210 days.
