Mary "Mollie" Walker, MBE (née Hybart; 5 February 1909 – 22 January 2022) was a British supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known living person in the United Kingdom since the death of Gertrude Kingston on 28 July 2021 until her death. She is also the oldest MBE ever, the oldest known person ever born in Wales, and the oldest person ever to die in Berkshire.


Mollie Walker was born in Cadoxton, Wales, United Kingdom, on 5 February 1909. Her first car was an Austin 7, which she acquired aged 17. Walker drove many types of vehicle and taught many people to drive throughout her life. She drove until the age of 103. She married John Walker in 1931, and they had two children: Sheila and Graham.

During the World War II, Walker served in the Women’s Voluntary Service (WVS). From 1954 to 1979, she worked for Peppard Parish Council. She was later awarded an Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her work in the Civil Defence.

Following the death of Gertrude Kingston on 28 July 2021, Walker became the oldest known living person in the United Kingdom.

On 5 September 2021, at the age of 112 years, 212 days, she surpassed the age of Lilian Priest, becoming the oldest known woman ever born in Wales.

On 28 November 2021, at the age of 112 years, 296 days, she surpassed the age of John Evans, becoming the oldest known person ever born in Wales.

In her later life, Walker lived in Kingwood, Oxfordshire, England, in the house that she and her husband built in the 1930s. She died at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, Berkshire on 22 January 2022 at the age of 112 years, 351 days. After her death, Ethel Caterham became the oldest living person in the United Kingdom.
