Mollie Wood (26 April 1901 – 18 December 2013) was an American supercentenarian whose age is pending by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography[]
Wood was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on 26 April 1901. When she had two toddlers and a baby on the way, her husband was struck down with polio and could not work for three years. However, he defied doctors who said he would not walk again by going back to work for the railways.
Wood lived to see the birth of her great-great-great-granddaughter, Braylin Higgins, who was born in the spring of 2012. This meant that six generations of her family were living at the same time. Wood died in Charlottesville, Virginia on 18 December 2013 at the age 112 years, 235 days.
