Biography[]

She left Shropshire in her late teens after securing a top traineeship at a salon in London. She would later marry Ivan Whales (1910-1969) in 1934. She and her husband later set up three businesses together in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Following the death of Ivan in 1969, after 35 years of marriage, Molly married John "Chuck" Bowman (1907-1980) in 1974, with whom she spent six years.

After retirement, she moved back to Shropshire where she worked as a volunteer for the Imperial Cancer Research shop, in Castle Street, Shrewsbury, for more than a decade.

She lived at a home in Copthorne Park until June 2012, when she suffered a series of mini-strokes and spent four weeks in hospital before being moved to the nursing home.
