Nao Sakai [Japanese: 堺ナヲ] (née Ota; 1905 – 2010) was a Japanese centenarian who was the youngest sister of validated supercentenarian Kane Tanaka.

Biography[]

Nao Sakai was born in Japan in 1905. Her parents were Kumakichi and Kuma Ota. She had eight or nine siblings (sources differ).

Her eldest sister Kane Tanaka (2 January 1903 – 19 April 2022) at the age of 119 years, 107 days, is the longest-lived Japanese person of all-time and the second-oldest person in history, behind only Jeanne Calment.

She lived at the Elderly Housing with Care in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka.

Nao Sakai died in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka, Japan in 2010 at the age of 105 years.
