Naoko Suzuki (Japanese: 鈴木なを江; 8 October 1906 – 8 October/1 November 2016) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Suzuki was born in Japan on 8 October 1906. She used to work at a silk mill in Toyohashi, Aichi in her youth. In September 2015, she was visited by the Mayor of Shinshiro, Ryoji Hozumi. At that time, she lived in the nursing home of Yamayuriso (Japanese: やまゆり荘) in Toei, Aichi, and used to spend 3-4 days per month at the house of her daughter, Chiyoko Inoue, where she enjoyed drinking tea and eating sweets with her daughter and grandchildren. She said drinking miso soup every day is the secret of her longevity.
Suzuki died in Shinshiro, Aichi, Japan, between 8 October and 1 November 2016, at the age of 110 years, 0-24 days.
