Natsuko Fujiwara [Japanese: 藤原ナツコ] (29 September 1901 – 23 January 2014) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Natsuko Fujiwara was born in Saijocho Misonou, Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan on 29 September 1901. She had 5 children, who later gave her 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren (as of 2013).
Following the death of 113-year-old Jun Kitamasu on 11 July 2013, Fujiwara became the oldest living person in Hiroshima Prefecture. Her age was verified by Tom Li and MHLW, Japan, and validated by the GRG on 17 August 2013.
Natsuko Fujiwara died of senility in Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan on 23 January 2014, at the age of 112 years, 116 days.
