Nicolina Accinni (née Bernardo; 23 February 1909 – 3 February 2022) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.

Biography[]

Nicolina Accinni was born in Rockville Centre, Nassau County, New York, USA, on 23 February 1909 to Italian immigrants, Francesco "Frank" and Pasqualina (née Supino) Bernardo. She had an older sister, Antoinette Sarno, who died in 2003 at the age of 96. She was married to Americo Francis Accinni (1907–1994). The couple had three sons, Frank (1932–1999), Robert (born 1940), and Thomas (born 1948). In her later life, she lived in a nursing home in Brookhaven, New York. She described her secret to longevity as "working hard and drinking a small amount of apple cider vinegar chased down with apple juice every day".

Accinni died in Brookhaven, New York, USA, on 3 February 2022, at the age of 112 years, 345 days, just 20 days short of her 113th birthday.
