Nina Brown (18 September 1911 – 29 May 2020) was a New Zealand centenarian who was the oldest known living person in New Zealand at time of her death.
Biography[]
Brown was born in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand on 18 September 1911. She studied to become a teacher at the age of 16, and received a Master of Arts degree at the University of Canterbury. She then moved to England where she became a teacher, but was sent back to New Zealand once World War II broke out. She continued teaching during the war.
Brown never married or had any children. She became the oldest known living person in New Zealand following the death of 108 year-old Moy Kim Ng on 9 January 2020.
Brown died in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand on 29 May 2020 at the age of 108 years, 254 days.
