Nina Filippovna Chagelishvili (Russian: Нина Филлиповна Чагелишвили; née Narimanidze (Russian: Нариманидзе); 13 October 1909 - 12 November 2022) was a Russian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Russia.

Biography[]

Nina Chagelishvili was born in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia–Alania, Russian Empire (present-day Russia), on 13 October 1909. Her father, Filipp Narimanidze, was a veteran of the Russo-Japanese War who died in the First World War. She had one sister. She was a student of the Vladikavkaz Georgian school. Her mother was a laborer during the Russian Revolution. In 1918, there there were gallows here in the Komsomolskaya street of Vladikavkaz where she lived, and she said that even children, including herself, watched executions. Her husband died in the Second World War.

At the age of 111, she had 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was also the last known Russian person born in the 1900s decade.

Nina Chagelishvili died in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia–Alania, Russia on 12 November 2022 at the age of 113 years, 30 days.
