Olivia Breen (née Dier; 3 October 1901 – 18 September 2011) was an Irish centenarian noted for being the oldest living person in Ireland.
Olivia Breen was born in Clonroche, County Wexford, Ireland (then part of the UK), on 3 October 1901. She was born into an Anglo-Irish Protestant family. Her parents were James Richard Dier and Eliza Watchorn. Her father James Richard was born in 1857 and farmed a 200 acre farm in the village of Clonroche. He was also a Justice of the Peace.
She had four brothers and one sister. Her brother John qualified as a doctor in the College of Surgeons, Dublin and in Edinburgh Univesity. Another brother Richard died in the Battle of the Somme.
In 1932, she was married to Patrick Breen, and they had three sons and one daughter. Her husband died in 1964.
She became the oldest person in Ireland on 12 January 2009, then aged 107, following the death of 107-year-old Margaret Conway.
Olivia Breen died in Care Choice Montenotte, Cork, County Cork, Ireland, on 18 September 2011 at the age of 109 years, 350 days. She was succeeded as Ireland's oldest person by then-108-year-old Statia Kealy.
