Ollie Bell Edwards (née Swain; 8 December 1911 – 11 April 2020) was an American centenarian who was one of the oldest victims of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Biography[]

Ollie Edwards was born in Crawfordville, Georgia, USA on 8 December 1911. She was the second of ten children born to the late George and Laura (née Griffin) Swain. She was married to Jessie Edwards, with whom she had nine children. Allegedly, her paternal grandmother was a member of the Cherokee tribe who lived to be 121 years.

In her later life, Edwards lived in a nursing home in Linden, New Jersey, USA. She died from COVID-19 on 11 April 2020 at the age of 108 years, 125 days, making her one of the oldest known victims of the coronavirus pandemic. At the time of her death, she had 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
