Otis Vernon "OV" Randall/Randle (28 June 1913 – 24 December 2023) was an American supercentenarian who was the second-oldest known living man in the United States, behind Francis Zouein, and the oldest known living man born in the United States at the time of his death. His age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.

Biography[]

Otis Randall was born in Melrose, Texas, USA on 28 June 1913 (claimed 1911). His parents were Willie and Caledonia "Callie" Randall. He had at least five siblings, two of whom, Lonnie (died 2007) and Anera (died 2014), lived to be 97 and 90 years old respectively.

Randall was married to Betty Mae Jenkins. They had a daughter named Myrtle (born 1933). He was a World War II veteran. His wife died in 1944 and, by 1950, he was living in Los Angeles, California, where he spent the rest of his life.

In June 2023, he celebrated his 110th birthday (claimed 112th), becoming a supercentenarian. At the age of 110, he remained in good health and was still able to walk. He had several grandchildren, as well as numerous great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren.

He became the oldest known living American-born man, following the death of 111-year-old Herbert Wolding on 17 November 2023. He was also the last known surviving Texas man born before 1917.

Otis Randall died in Los Angeles, California, USA on 24 December 2024 at the age of 110 years, 179 days.
