Panagiota Apostolopoulou [Greek: Παναγιώτα Αποστολοπούλου] (1913 – 7 December 2023) was a Greek centenarian.

Biography[]

Panagiota Apostolopoulou was born in 1913 in the area of ​​Tragano in the municipality of Pinios, Greece. She married Nikolaos Apostolopoulos at an early age and created a family. She raised her son Antonis and daughter Eirini with many difficulties and even worked three jobs to make ends meet. She experienced the loss of her husband at the age of 21. She worked as a domestic helper, worked on a loom, and in 1968, followed her son and his wife to Germany. She stayed there for a few years, however, the nostalgia of her hometown led her to the decision to return. In the course of her life she also had six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Until her last moment, she lived in her house in Tragano. Panagiota became more widely known through a 2018 article in the local press after attending her great-grandson's ordinations as priest on 13 January 2018 and 14 January 2018. In the article her age was reported as "106".
