Pasquale Frasconi (12 November 1893 – 16 March 2004) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At time of his death, the oldest known living Italian veteran of the First World War.
Biography[]
Pasquale Frasconi was born in Luogosanto, Sardinia, Italy on 12 November 1893. He was a dealer in the agriculture business, but he never worked as a farmer. He never married. In 1997, he had a fractured femur, but was operated on and was able to walk again.
He became the oldest known living man in Italy following the death of 112 year-old Giovanni Frau on 19 June 2003. On 12 November 2003, the Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi conveyed the affection and gratefulness of the Italian people on the occasion of his 110th birthday.
Pasquale Frasconi died at his home where he had been living with his nephew in Aglientu, Sardinia, Italy on 16 March 2004 at the age of 110 years, 125 days. Following his death, then-108-year-old Carlo Orelli became the oldest known living man in Italy.
