Paulette Magne-Ducamin [French: Paulette Magné-Ducamin] (née Pouey-Dicard; 21 April 1912 – 12 January 2024) was a French supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Early Life and Family[]

Paulette Magne-Ducamin was born in Lelin-Lapujolle, Gers, Occitanie, France on 21 April 1912. Her father died in February 1916 because of World War I. She was declared Ward of the Nation.

Although she liked school and had good results, Magne-Ducamin began to work in the farm at the age of 12. She married, and had two children. She was widowed in 1950. Her objective was to make her children studying and having an occupation, and she managed to do so.

Magne-Ducamin later remarried, but was widowed again. She had a last partner (without marrying him), who died when she was 78. Then, she moved to Riscles, Gers.

Later Life[]

At the age of 100, Magne-Ducamin still was very independent. She took care of her garden, her flowers and her dog. She also still cooked for herself, did her shopping, frequented the local library, and walked 2 km every day no matter what the weather. In 2018, she moved again to Lelin-Lapujolle.

Following the death of 111-year-old Madeleine Reboul on 24 August 2022, Magne-Ducamin became the oldest known living person in Occitanie.

Magne-Ducamin's age was verified by GRG-France Correspondent Sylvain Grosgeorge, and validated by the GRG on 6 November 2023.

Paulette Magne-Ducamin died in Lelin-Lapujolle, Gers, Occitanie, France on 12 January 2024 at the age of 111 years, 266 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Gers department and Occitanie region.
