Paz Mendiola Sablan (30 September 1917 – 19 April 2021) was a Guamanian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Guam for the final ten months of her life.

Biography[]

Paz Mendiola Sablan was born in Piti, Guam on 30 September 1917. Her husband Pedro Chargualaf Sablan died in 1973.

On 24 May 2018, local centenarians were celebrated at a Senior Citizens Month celebration on at an event organized by the Department of Public Health and Social Services Division of Senior Citizens. Besides Paz Mendiola Sablan (aged 100 at that time), centenarians at event were Josefina Blas (aged 103) and Hae Im Yu Shim (aged 101).

Mendiola Sablan became the oldest known living person in Guam following the death of 105 year-old Josefina Blas on 24 June 2020.

She died in Yigo, Guam on 19 April 2021 at the age of103 years, 201 days.
