Pedro Pataganao Wayas (22 February 1882 – 29 December 1991) was a Filipino-born American centenarian.
Biography[]
Pedro Wayas was reportedly born San Fernando, Cebu Province, Central Visayas, Philippines on 22 February 1882. He moved to Hawaii, USA in 1923 and was an irrigator at a sugar plantation until he retired in 1946. He married Candida Alania and they had two children. At the age of 101 he became an American citizen in 1983. Pedro Wayas died in Kahuku, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA on 29 December 1991 at the age of 109 years, 310 days. If his claimed age is true, he may be the oldest man to ever reside in Hawaii. At the time of his death he had 20 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.
