Peter Andreasson Matsson Buskas [Swedish: Petter] (19 September 1913 – 15 December 2018) was a Swedish centenarian.
Biography[]
Early life and family[]
Peter Buskas was born in current-day Ukraine on 19 September 1913. His parents were Mats Buskas and Katarina Busch.
Buskas had four siblings (Gustav Buskas, Maria Buskas, Elin Buskas, and Emma Buskas) and six half siblings (Gustav Knutas, Petter Knutas, Maria Knutas, Matilda Knutas, Johannes Knutas, and Emma Knutas).
Later life and death[]
On 24 July 1929, at the age of almost 26, Buskas emigrated to Sweden. During his last years, he was still able to walk with the help of a cane. He had an active lifestyle. He often liked to go for walks, and he also liked to spend time and take part in activities with his friends and family as well. He had many nephews and nieces, as well as many relatives.
In September 2013, Buskas celebrated his 100th birthday and became a centenarian.
Peter Buskas died from natural causes at his home in Sweden on 15 December 2018, at the age of 105 years, 87 days. His funeral was held on 11 January 2019. At the time of his death, he was the fifth-oldest known undisputed living man in Sweden, after Carl Mattsson, Ernst Blixt, Goesta Vestlund, and Harry Olsson.
