Rade Grujicic [Serbian; Раде Грујичић] (15 February 1900 – 4 December 2007) was a Montenegrin-born Serbian centenarian who was the oldest known living man and person in Serbia at the time of his death. He was also a famous herbalist from the mountains of Jabuka.
Biography[]
Rade Grujicic was born in the village of Otlovici near Pljevlja, Kingdom of Montenegro, (present-day Montenegro) on 15 February 1900.
He was looking for medicinal plants, which is why he came to the territory of today's Serbia. He was known for helping people all over Yugoslavia who could not have children with his herbs. He has helped hundreds of people realize themselves as parents. He always said that it was a gift from God to help others. .he never went to the doctor in his life, until he was 102 years old.
In March 2002, when he was 102 years old at the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases, he had a bypass implanted, then he endured the operation very well and after that he returned to the village and continued collecting medicinal herbs.
Rade Grujicic died in a small village of Golocevina on Jabuka Mountain, Prijepolje municipality, Serbia on 4 December 2007 at the age of 107 years, 292 days. Following his death, then 106-year-old Jovo Latinovic became the oldest known living man in Serbia, and then 107-year-old Kostadinka Momirovic became the oldest known living person in Serbia.
