Ramona Costoyas Rey (10 August 1909 – 4 April 2020) was a Spanish supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.
Biography[]
Costoyas Rey was born in Andamollo (Manduas), Silleda, Galicia, Spain, on 10 August 1909. She grew up with her grandparents, since her parents were one of many people who moved to Latin America, more specifically to Argentina. She married Jose Sueiro, who died at the age of 90. She had four children with him, three of whom were alive in 2017.
On her 108th birthday, she was visited by the mayor of Silleda, Manuel Cuina and Pilar Peon, who was responsible for Social Welfare. At that time, she had 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She celebrated her 110th birthday in August 2019.
Costoyas Rey died in Quintela (Manduas), Silleda, Galicia, Spain on 4 April 2020 at the age of 110 years, 238 days.
