Raymond Antonini (born 20 January 1922), known as Ray Anthony, is an American bandleader, actor, and centenarian who has been the last living member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra since the death of Nat Peck in 2015. He is additionally the only member of the ensemble to reach 100, and one of the last living actors of the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Early Life and Career[]

Born to an Italian family in Pennsylvania on 20 January 1922, Anthony moved to Cleveland, Ohio to learn the trumpet. He joined the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1940 and starred along with it in Sun Valley Serenade (1941) before enlisting in the U.S. Navy.

After the war, Anthony formed the Ray Anthony Orchestra which produced hits such as covers of The Bunny Hop and Hokey Pokey. He also had a short career in television and film with The Ray Anthony Show (1956-1957) and his role in The Five Pennies (1959). His orchestra recorded the score for This Could Be The Night (1957).

In the 1980s, he formed Big Band 80s with other still-living prominent swing musicians such as Buddy Rich and Harry James. Anthony has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is still active in the music industry.

Personal Life[]

Ray Anthony married actress Mamie Van Doren in 1955. In 1956, they had their only son: Perry. They divorced in 1961.

Anthony currently lives in Los Angeles, California, USA at the age of 102 years, 361 days.
