Rita Farmer (born 24 June 1914) is a British supercentenarian who is the oldest living person in the English county of Norfolk. Her age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Rita Farmer was born on 24 Jun 1914 in Tonbridge, Kent. In her youth, she went to Tonbridge Grammar School. In 1937, she moved to London and worked for the Erie Resistor company, and was recorded as residing in Kensington and Chelsea. By 1939, she had moved to Wembley, England. During World War II, her company relocated to Great Yarmouth as it was considered strategically important to national security. She retired from her work in 1973 and travelled Europe. She moved into St. Edmund's Residential Care Home in Gorleston, Norfolk in 2008 after fracturing her hip and has lived there ever since.
