Rosa Ann Comfort (née Dossett; 21 January 1879 – 6 November 1992) was a British supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Rosa Comfort was born as Rosa Dossett in Marylebone, London, England, UK on 21 January 1879.
She married Edward Comfort, who worked as policeman. The couple had two children: Jack and Ted (aged 73 in January 1991). She was widowed in 1933.
She died in Brent, London, England, UK on 6 November 1992 at the age of 113 years, 290 days. Her age was validated by Roger Thatcher and the GRG.
At the time of her death, Comfort was the second-oldest living person in the United Kingdom, behind 115 year-old Charlotte Hughes. She was also the third-oldest British person of all time, behind Hughes and Anna Eliza Williams. However, as of 2022 she ranks as the 12th-oldest of all time.
