Rosa Lee Dantzler (née Stokes; 25 December 1911 – 1 November 2022) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.
Biography[]
Dantzler was born on Christmas Day 1911 in Saint Matthews, South Carolina, one of five children born to Perry and Magalene (née Shuler) Stokes. She worked as a caregiver for many children in Saint Matthews, and had four children of her own.
Dantzler was a longtime member of Emancipation Baptist Church. For the last few years of her life, she lived in New York with her daughter, Maggie Ellis. At the time of her 108th birthday in 2019, Dantzler had 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren. She died on 1 November 2022 at the age of 110 years, 311 days.
