Rosa Rosario de Santos (9 April 1911 – 15 October 2022) was a Puerto Rican-American supercentenarian who was the oldest known living person born in Puerto Rico at the time of her death. Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.
Biography[]
Rosa Rosario de Santos was born in Puerto Rico on 9 April 1911. At some point in her life, she emigrated to the United States.
In April 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
She became the oldest known living Puerto Rican-born person, following the death of 111-year-old Juan Escribano on 5 December 2021.
She died in Brownsville, Texas, USA on 15 October 2022, at the age of 111 years, 189 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Texas, behind Elizabeth Francis.
