As a young woman, Franz joined Liedertafel, a social group for Germans in Bucharest. At one of these engagements, she met Martin Neubauer, a carpenter originally from Bistrita. They married on 28 March 1929, and had two daughters named Annemarie and Rosemarie.

In January 1945, during World War II, Neubauer’s husband was deported to Russia while she and her daughters remained penniless in Bucharest. He returned to Bucharest in 1948. Martin died in 1973, leaving Neubauer a widow.

Neubauer moved to Germany in 1989 along with her two daughters. She lived independently until 2012, when she began living at Caritasheims Sankt Elisabeth. She celebrated her 110th birthday in October 2019; in addition to her two daughters, she had three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosina Neubauer died in Bensheim, Hesse, Germany on 13 November 2019 at the age of 110 years, 33 days.
