Ruby Lee Beasley (née Renegar; formerly Butler; 6 November 1910 – 8 January 2021) was an American supercentenarian who was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.

Biography[]

Beasley was born in North of Caddo Creek near Ardmore, Oklahoma, USA on 6 November 1910. Her parents were Charlie S. Renegar and Katie (née Bennett) Renegar. She grew up with her four sisters on the Renegars’ Bar S Ranch in Nebo, Oklahoma. She attended Nebo school until the 9th grade.

She married Frances E. Butler on 23 March 1927 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The couple had four children: Francis Powell (1928–2018), Earl Butler (1930–2015), Helen Binderim (1931–2010) and Hazel Okkonen.

She married George Beasley on 26 August 1946. Ruby and George lived in San Antonio, Texas where they owned a dairy farm with ninety-five head of cattle until 1979. The couple then retired to Sulphur, Oklahoma where Ruby lived until her death.

She celebrated her 110th birthday on 6 November 2020.

Beasley died from COVID-19 complications in Sulphur, Oklahoma on 8 January 2021 at the age of 110 years, 63 days, making her one of the oldest victims of the coronavirus pandemic. She was survived her youngest sister Charlene Crissey; her daughter Hazel Okkonen, her daughter-in-law Hannelore Butler, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandson.
