Ruby Billings (27 April 1900 – 9 May 2009) was a centenarian from New Zealand who was the country’s oldest known living person.

Biography[]

Billings married twice and outlived her two children. At the time of her death, she had nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. Billings lived in retirement homes since 1986.

Billings became New Zealand's oldest living person on 22 February 2008, when Irene Morgan died. She died on 9 May 2009, aged 109 years, 12 days and was the last known New Zealander born in the 19th century. Inez Newton was her successor.
