Ruby Lockhart (née Clay; 17 May 1912 – 16 October 2024) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was, at the time of her death, the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Ohio.

Biography[]

Ruby Lockhart was born in Elkhart, Indiana, USA on 17 May 1912, the second child of Andrew and Ida (née Baker) Clay. She had four brothers and two sisters.

She married Ferrall Wheeler Lockhart on 4 November 1931. They had three children: Eugene Lockhart, James Lockhart, and Lynne Wallace. Her husband died in August 1982.

As of May 2019, she had one living sister, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. In May 2022, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

On 3 March 2023, following the death of 111-year-old Alma Kahl of Portsmouth, she became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Ohio.

Ruby Lockhart was living at Hillside Country Living in Bryan, Ohio, USA at the time of her death.

Ruby Lockhart died on 16 October 2024 in Bryan, Ohio, United States at the age of 112 years, 152 days.
