Ruth Mosselle Apilado (née Mays; 30 April 1908 – 15 August 2021) was an American magazine editor and supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Ruth Apilado was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA on 30 April 1908. Her mother, Clara Mays, was a homemaker, and her father, Stewart Mays, was a postal worker. After graduating from McKinley High School in 1925, Apilado attended Chicago Teachers College, where she earned her teaching certificate in 1928. She married Inosencio Apilado, who was born in the Philippines. They had one son, Myron. Their marriage lasted for over 70 years until his death in 2007 at the age of 99.
