Ruth Elizabeth Beich (née Baldwin; 1 August 1915 – 22 December 2020) was an American centenarian who was one of the oldest victims of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Biography[]

Ruth Beich was born on 1 August 1915 in Bloomington, Illinois to Ernest and Marie Baldwin. She had one brother. After graduating from high school, she began a 20-year career with State Farm Insurance Company. She was married to Paul Beich, with whom she had one daughter and four stepchildren.

Beich moved to Naples, Florida in 1975. For over 50 years, Beich was a member of Royal Poinciana Golf Club, of which her husband was a founding member. As well as golf, she enjoyed long walks on the beach, swimming, and bridge.

Ruth Beich died due to complications of COVID-19 on 22 December 2020 at the age of 105 years, 143 days. At the time of her death, she had 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
