Ruth Emblow (6 February 1898 – 16 March 2008) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Ruth Emblow and her twin sister Rhea Spohner were born in New York State, USA, on 6 February 1898. Her parents were William Emblow, an English immigrant and Emma (née Wemblood) Emblow.
Longevity ran in her family; her father lived to be 87, her mother Emma Emblow (20 April 1875 – 27 August 1976) lived to be 101, her twin sister Rhea Spohner (6 February 1898 – 5 November 1998) lived to be 100, her sister Evalyn Horne (16 August 1903 – 24 September 2005) lived to be 102 and her other five siblings lived to be more than 90 years. She never married and not had children.
Emblow died in New York City, New York State, USA on 16 March 2008 at the age of 110 years, 39 days.
