Safa Dedic [Bosnian; Safa Dedić] (1 April 1900 – 1 March 2006) was a Bosnian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Safa Dedic was born in the village of Podorasje near Srebrenik, Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 1 April 1900. She married her husband Sacir Dedic at the age of 14, with whom she had six children.
During her long life, she very rarely visited a doctor, and almost until her death, she was able to leave the house and walk without anyone's help.
At the time of her death, she had 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She became the oldest known living person in Bosnia and Herzegovina, following the death of 105-year-old Milusa Andjelic on 10 November 2005.
Dedic died in the village of Podorasje, Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 1 March 2006 at the age of 105 years, 335 days. Following her death, then 105-year-old Anica Radmilovic, became the oldest known living person in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
